Spencer Dewey

Ceramics is a versatile medium that challenges me to create work that lets me express the stylistic interests I have in my own life. It is very evident that I pull ideas from my love of Halloween, creatures, simple shapes, repetitive patterns, and shades of green. Within these guidelines, I normally make functional pieces that I hope will bring happiness and intention to activities that would potentially be routine. My mind constantly thinks about the objects we interact with, and how we select the items we include in our day-to-day lives. Ultimately, I hope that the pieces I create will be shared and help reconnect its users to the present moment through their use.

I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2019 in Craft/Material Studies from Virginia Commonwealth University.
